8b8t has been online since 2016, evolving through multiple eras while staying true to its core identity. What began as 0b0t, later became 6b6t, and is now known as 8b8t. While there have been a few map resets throughout its long history, the current world has remained unchanged since August 2020, standing as a testament to persistence and player history.
Our philosophy is simple: true freedom for players. 8b8t operates with little to no admin intervention, allowing the world to develop naturally through the actions of its players. There are no artificial restrictions shaping gameplay—what happens here is entirely driven by the community.
Unlike many so-called “anarchy” servers that have introduced rules to comply with Mojang’s EULA enforcement, 8b8t has remained consistent. The core codebase and fundamental principles that defined the server in 2016 are still intact today. We don’t redefine freedom—we preserve it.
8b8t is more than just a server. It’s a long-running experiment in unrestricted gameplay, where history is written by those who choose to survive it.
8b8t originally started in late 2016 under the name 0b0t as a non-vanilla anarchy server created by Leee as an alternative to the server 2b2t due to the long queue times. The server was then rebranded to 6b6t sometime in 2019 due to losing the domain.
6b6t's current map began on March 3, 2019 and stayed online until April 2020 when there was a hardware issue and this former map was thought to be lost. A new map began sometime in January 2021 and the server became what is now known as 8b8t.
The current world is 6 years old and was created on August 18, 2020.
8b8t runs on a highly customized Folia fork, allowing for multi-threaded performance that traditional servers cannot match. Our core plugin, 8b8tCore, is the most advanced anti-illegal system ever made, protecting the server at the bitstream level.
